Steering Systems for commercial vehicles

In future generations of commercial vehicles, electromechanical steering systems will replace today's hydraulic or electrohydraulic steering systems and also support partially or fully autonomous driving up to SAE Level 5.

In this context, adcos develops and produces special two-channel ECUs with integrated power electronics and sensors that support the following steering system variants:

• Fail operational with steering column
• Fail-operational steer-by-wire

These ECUs are mounted directly on the electric motor and are designed either for the low voltage range of 12V to 48V or for higher voltages of up to 1000V. The ECUs meet all safety targets relevant to steering systems according to ISO 26262 in ASIL-D and guarantee maximum energy efficiency through the use of specially developed and tested control algorithms.
