Electric drives are at the heart of electromobility. In addition to the traction drive, 3-phase electric motors are usually used in electromechanical actuators. Our many years of experience, especially in drive electronics and control, as well as the competence of OVALO GmbH in the field of motor design, make us a valued development partner. 

Appropriate power electronics are essential for the operation of an electric drive. One focus at adcos is the development of highly integrated power electronics for the low voltage range from 12V to 48V as well as for higher voltages up to 1000V. The process-accurate and safety-compliant implementation is just as natural as the use of simulations and powerful development tools. We also pay particular attention to the 3D integration of the electronics in the available space and the corresponding thermal connection.

In electrically powered vehicles, additional auxiliary units such as compressors, pumps or fans are usually used. The otherwise customary rotor angle sensor is often left out for reasons of cost and/or integration. The development of correspondingly cost-optimized electrical hardware and sensorless control algorithms for such components is one of our strengths.

The heating and cooling system in an electric vehicle represents a large secondary consumer of energy. The main reasons are the elimination of the combustion engine as a heat source and additional air conditioning requirements from drive components such as the battery. Optimum thermal management based on intelligent control strategies is extremely important for both range and service life. adcos cooperates closely with SynErgy Thermal Management GmbH in this area. The know-how focuses of both companies complement each other perfectly, which allows us to expand our range of services accordingly.
